Posting will be slow over the holiday weekend, but we are pleased to share an announcement from our friends at the Cloverdale-Idlewild Neighborhood Association:

2011 Annual 4th of July

Neighborhood Parade & Band Party

Monday, July 4, 2011

Hosted by the Cloverdale-Idlewild Neighborhood Association

Everyone is welcome!!

The PARADE will start at 2:00pm at the corner of Lexington and Plymouth. It will wind its way through the neighborhood and finish at the Cloverdale Bottom Park under the shady live oak trees for a patriotic mini-pageant!! Plan to bring coolers with cold drinks to help cool off while you visit with neighbors and friends!!

Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade! This is your chance to wear your red, white and blue- the more festive, the better!!! Decorate your bikes, cars, scooters, strollers, wagons, riding lawnmowers and your pets and join in the parade!!!  If you just want to cheer the parade along, be sure to wave from a shady spot on the sidelines!!!

The Band Party will be from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and will be located at the Gazebo at Cloverdale Bottom Park (intersection of Cloverdale Rd. and Ponce de Leon). The band this year will be OTI (OUTSIDE THE INSIDE)!!! www.oti.us.com Don’t forget to bring cool drinks and snacks to enjoy while visiting with friends and neighbors under the beautiful live oak trees!!! All ages are welcome!!! There will be port-a-potties available this year, thanks to Arch Lee, our City Councilman!!!
