As the fall gets underway (Falling leaves! Football! Biscuits in the playoffs!), Midtown Montgomery Living happens to be looking for some new writers to enliven our existing mix. If you’ve got an interest in writing, promoting local events, or just telling folks about what a weird and wonderful place Montgomery is, we’d love to hear from you.

Since you’re reading this, you probably already have a feel for what makes MML unique. We publish three times a week (usually Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays). We publish the work of local writers whose work has an “only in Montgomery” angle. Although we occasionally give out assignments, our writers choose their own topics and follow deadlines that we jointly agree upon. Most folks write for us once a month, although there are some who write more or less frequently, as they are able. Our writers also provide their own art and photos to accompany posts. We don’t publish works that are online elsewhere.

We have a very wide and diverse readership and lots of followers in social media outlets. As we finish our third year, we’re looking forward to increasing our readership and reach even more. Our writers take a lot of satisfaction in the fact that a lot of eyeballs see their posts and they get to build a portfolio of edited and published works. And, again, we’re hyper-local.

If you (or someone you know) would be interested in writing for MML, please get in touch with us. We’d like to see a sample post, a few ideas for future posts, and some biographical information. We’ll look things over and get back in touch. We’re not promising to publish everyone who submits, but we are hoping to reach out and find some new and interesting voices to continue making Montgomery a more interesting and entertaining place to live.
