Dreaming Bold

I’m dreaming. The picture above is my view as I sit atop the S. H. Kress building writing this article. The words to follow are part of Helicity’s vision for Montgomery. Helicity is hard at work planning for this year’s street fair, and while we feel the first Montgomery Street Fair since the turn of the 20th century was a success, we also believe that there is so much more that Montgomery has to offer itself.

Eagerly and earnestly we ask you to join us on May 11 in celebration of all things Montgomery, both as our guest and as a player in the grand performance of the Montgomery Street Fair. Check out a great video from last year here if you missed it or want to relive the memories.

What’s in store for this year? Good question! There is so much going on that we can’t fit it all in one post. Thanks to the good people at MML we will be releasing articles about each program over the next few weeks. We can tell you today that there will be more vending booths with a wider variety of offerings, more street performers than ever, more music, more children’s activities and most of all more FUN! There’s also one really special addition that should get your wheels turning! Make sure to keep checking in here at Midtown Montgomery Living so you don’t miss any of the updates! In the meantime, we thought we’d share some of our favorite photos of the MSF 2012 with you this week.

We need your help! We are coming up with all sorts of new ideas, and improving what we brought to you last year, but we also need to dream with us to make The Montgomery Street Fair the greatest event this city has ever seen. A party that celebrates Montgomery as our fair city, the state Capital, and a beacon for the South, it is fitting that the fair be a collaborative event that reflects the culture of anyone that is interested in contributing. Whether you are an individual with a talent to share, or an organization that would like to add a new component to the festival, we want to work with you!

If you have any ideas or want to get involved, email us today! helicity.montgomery@gmail.com
