Screen Shot 2014-05-12 at 8.34.44 PMIt’s summer and the Old Alabama Town Revue has one more show before taking summer break. So come one, come all for fun, music, and a general frolic on June 5, at 7 p.m. in the Old Church in Old Alabama Town on Columbus Street. In a nod to what we all know is coming, the theme of the show is “Hot!” We are having a lot of fun with this theme. Toni is jamming with “Heatwave,” and Larry is crooning “Under the Boardwalk.” Stephen will melt all the ladies’ hearts with “Fire,” and Tim is rendering a ballad in Spanish that he swears fits the theme. I’ve dusted off one of my musical adaptations from Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying — a little number called “It Gets Hot in a Cotton Patch.” There will be other tunes and surprises. You can see this theme has inspired us!

It’s been a good season for the Old Alabama Town Revue. We have expanded the cast and now have a real bonifide band with bass player Marty Martin, drummer Anthony Castaldo, and lead guitarist Larry Gobrecht. I am thrilled to have singer-songwriter Stephen Bray join the cast. Montgomery’s music offerings are also expanding, and I appreciate the audiences that return to see the Revue and have a good time with us. We perform every other month on the first Thursday night of that month. However, we take the summer off, so after June 5, the next show is in October. Put us on your calendar for June 5 and get ready for “HOT HOT HOT!!”
