We’re very pleased to introduce a new feature here at MML – the Picture of the Week. Photographer Brian Holt (www.holtconnections.com) has recently moved to town and will be sharing a photo with us every Tuesday. He will also provide some comments about the photo from his perspective. Please feel free to chime in with your own and join us in welcoming Brian to Montgomery.

Brian’s thoughts: “The natural beauty of Midtown Montgomery during the peak of summer is almost a bit overwhelming to me. After spending the last four years living in the Las Vegas desert, the photography options seem almost endless. The image for this week is what appears to be a very old tree that fell on the Green at Huntingdon College after a recent storm.  I can promise that even if no one was around when this tree fell, that it certainly made a sound.”

  1. Brian, I moved to Montgomery in July 1964. Came from the Midwest by way of Okinawa, also hot and pretty barren. As we drove down Fairview, I was blown away by the canopy of trees, gorgeous green lawns and lush gardens. We are all so very blessed to live here. And welcome!

    • Brian Holt says:

Sandra, thank you! My wife, daughter, and I are very excited to be part of this beautiful community! I had the pleasure of hearing Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange speak this morning and was even more thrilled to hear that Montgomery was voted as the #1 historic city in the United States in a USA Today article. Given the competition this was quite the award. Excited to share more images in the coming weeks and months.

Wow Brian, you see beauty in everything!
