Screen Shot 2014-09-19 at 12.26.30 PMThe Old Alabama Town Revue starts its fourth season on October 2 at 7 p.m. We are still on the first Thursday of every other month. We are still happily in the Old Church on Columbus Street in Old Alabama Town. We still have the band. I call us the OAT Crue. However, I am happy to announce a couple of changes. Thanks to photographer par excellence Cynthia Jancaterino and awesome graphic artist Cindy Clark, we have a new poster. I have also changed the show format. I have shortened the show to one set — easier on those butt bones in those church pews!

The theme for this show is “Blues and Boo!” The first part is a round of original blues songs about Alabama in the fall. I sent out the song writing challenge and I think our guests will enjoy the results. The second part features songs with a Halloween theme. But please do not think this is a sad, scary show. No, we’ll be having a lot of fun. Toni Wood is going to wow you; Tim Henderson is set to impress; Marty Martin going to lay down a soulful bass line; Larry Gobrecht plans to rock out; Anthony Castaldo, the rhythm-meister, has a beat tough to beat; Stephen Bray might scare us with his awesomeness; and The Pellets will take it to another level. Me? I’m just doing my best to keep up!

I am excited about the new season of the OAT Revue, the OAT Crue, the new poster, the new format, all with the same old cool vibe. See ya for “Blues and Boo” at 7 on Thursday night, October 2, at the Old Church on Columbus Street in Old Alabama Town.

Don’t forget your cushion.
