image003On Friday, September 30, Landmarks Foundation will celebrate the 16th Annual Tavern Fest in historic Old Alabama Town. The one night event has become one of Montgomery’s most awesome craft beer, food, and music festivals. This year’s event will feature the music of the local band Blue Yonder and a variety of local and national beer offerings.

This year, Tavern Fest will be pouring up a variety of craft brews. A range of wine options will also be offered. Food will be available from a variety of our local food vendors, each serving up their delectable specialty menu items. Vendors on the street will include NYC Gyro, Trojan Café, Potz ‘n Panz, That’s My Dog, Alabama Sweet Tea Company, Cupcakes by Tish — and more are signing up daily.

Tickets are available for advance purchase for $15, and at the door for $20. Each ticket includes two drink tickets. Tickets may also be purchased online now at www.oldalabamatown.com. The event will be held on historic North Hull Street, between East Jefferson and Columbus Streets, and gates will open at 5:57 p.m. And I have no clue where that odd time came from but now it’s become a tradition! Tavern Fest plans to build on the success of recent years, with last year’s event welcoming more than 500 guests throughout the night.

Proceeds from the event go to support Landmarks Foundation and its mission to preserve, interpret and present Central Alabama’s architecture, history and culture. Landmarks Foundation is the city’s leading historic preservation group and oversees the operation of Old Alabama Town in downtown Montgomery. We do so appreciate the support from the 2016 sponsors: Partners Realty/The Alley Station; Wealth Management Partners; Melisa and Frank Wilson; Troy University; Montgomery Veterinary Associates, Holtsford, Gilliland, Higgins, Hitson and Howard PC; Bell Media; Lamar; Landscape Workshop; and the City of Montgomery.

Get the VIP Tavern Fest experience when you reserve a porch! Bring your friends and enjoy the music and atmosphere on the front porch of a historic cottage—each offering a great view of the action on Historic North Hull Street. Each porch is $300 and includes 10 tickets and 20 drink tickets. If you’re interested in inviting nine of your closest friends to share a table, call 334-240-4617 now and get the best porch!
